FRANKENSTEIN WALKING
Yes, whoever suggested that Cole walks like Frankenstein and gave us the idea was right on--i cant remember who it was, it was in the halls at church. And Cole was into showing off his costume(or maybe just his new skill of walking) too! And yes, I made the hat (out of a $1.50 sweatshirt from Goodwill, i know, i am bragging, i cant help it, i was really proud of myself). I guess I shouldn't brag since the girls costumes were not homemade(although i did have to hem and fix them). Maybe my goal should be to make 1 costume a year.

Sorry Folks, we didn't actually follow the poll about Cole's costume, we decided to go for the costume with the least votes: Frankenstein. Just thought I would let you know. I will post pics as soon as i let paul upload them. It's not that I cannot upload them, it's that i don feel that patient right now, so maybe tomorrow we will have trunk or treating pics for you...if paul has patience. Stay tuned

Cole's 1st Birthday and other pics
yes, we did it again, our son has survived one entire year of life. Actually, since most of you know and have commented on how good i am at blogging, I am happy to report that he has now survived almost 14 months! Which might not seem like a big feat to some of you, but not everyone is blessed with our special abilities to kill a plant in a week(happpened more times than I can count) and to drown a fish (Yes....dont doubt me, it is possible). here are the long awaited pics from his belated Bday party and his cotton candy banana split (he is in food trials not for bananas) as you can see, he is not too sure about this!
APFED BINGO Night is over!
Thank goodness October 11th has come and gone, what a relief! I almost don't know what to do with myself since the last 8 weeks have been spent focusing on October 11th! I helped plan a fundraising event for the American Partnership for Eosinophilic Diseases (APFED). We threw the entire event with no budget, and all completely from scratch looking for donations for everything.
All in all, I think it went off well, we raised almost $10,000 for our cause which isn't too shabby for a family fundraising event. I sold 25 tickets to the event and out of our extended family, only one person, my bro-in-law, Adam, won at BINGO. And so out of the many donations, gift cards, and baskets(some of which i begged for), what did he choose, a cigar lighter....who doesn't need one of those?
I just want to say thanks again to all of my friends who supported me, and who put up with me during the last several weeks! I am so lucky to have such good friends and family. And my poor husband, all he wants as payment for all of his help picking up the slack is for me to promise not to do this next year......don't worry, it's not like pregnancy, I'll remember how draining it is.....wont I?

Quick updates
This is Cole's favorite thing to do. He gets very proud of himself and he can lock his legs and balance for a long time.
San Diego Trip
Meggie, Paityn, myself and Telise as Mermaids. Telise had to be convinced to do it. It took too long for paityn--we had to finish the tails quickly and then take quick pictures. another problem was that since all of the girls were in the sand, the boys had to try and make tails.
the annual fam pic at the park
The girls drag paul on the Tilt-a-whirl. Afterwards, Paityn wanted it to go faster, telise was a little scared of it and Paul had to sit down for 20 minutes because he was sick.

Disneyland--Sensory Overload
The time finally came and off we went to California with the Hawkins'. Paul was especially excited--more than any of the kids, and that's a big feat since paityn is easily excitable.
We mistakenly took telise on pirates and splash mountain to early in the day and she was afraid of everything after that. But when you really think about it, almost all the rides have a villian or scary part to the ride. Paityn was to young to care. Cole was easygoing and Paityn was excited almost the entire time. She is still asking me almost daily when we get to go to Disneyland again. Telise had lunch with the princesses and loved it. During the parade telise couldn't even smile because she was watching so intently.
